Jira Administrator

Position Overview

As a Jira Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of our Jira environment. Your role will involve ensuring the efficient operation of Jira, troubleshooting issues, and implementing best practices to enhance project management and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Jira Administrator or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in configuring and managing Jira environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Jira administration, including project setup, workflow customization, and user management. Experience with Jira Service Desk and Agile methodologies is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and create clear documentation.
• Tools: Familiarity with Jira add-ons and plugins, as well as other project management and collaboration tools.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Atlassian Certified Administrator) are a plus.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Jira Configuration: Set up, configure, and manage Jira projects, workflows, custom fields, screens, and permissions to align with organisational needs.
• UserManagement: Administer user accounts, roles, and permissions, ensuring appropriate access and security across all Jira projects.
• Support &Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for Jira users, resolving issues, and troubleshooting problems to ensure smooth and efficient usage.
• Integration: Manage and configure integrations with other tools and systems, including Confluence, Bitbucket, and third-party applications.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimise Jira performance, including system health, database management, and plugin updates.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for Jira configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
• Training & Support: Conduct training sessions for new users and provide ongoing support to ensure effective use of Jira tools and features.
